So, here I am… making my first blog post as someone who used to be opposed to blogging! But I think it is my time to join the club and begin sharing aspects of my life with you in hope that you and I both get something out of it.
Maybe. Maybe not.
My name is Steph and I’m 18 years old. I live in the beautiful city of Melbourne and enjoy following a vegan and gluten-free lifestyle. I’m only gluten free as I’m a diagnosed coeliac. YAY. Since following a gluten free diet from mid 2015 and being vegan since January 2016, I’ve become more conscious of not only the food I’m putting into my body but my whole lifestyle. Converting to a plant-based life was not easy and I’ll go into my transition in a different blog but I did it and it was the best thing I’ve ever done. Being able to align my values with my behaviour was the greatest feeling. I’m becoming a massive environmentalist and am hoping to do everything that I can to reduce my, and other’s, impact on the environment.
I just finished year 12 and my exams – woohoo – and I’m currently in a slump of not knowing what to do with myself. Hence the blog I guess. Somehow after one hell of a year I really am missing mental stimulation. I’m hoping to study psychology next year and move into neuroscience. I’m also considering making my way into the Australian army for a while but we will see.
I’m heading to India next week and I’m super excited. I’ll be doing mission work and just enjoying a more simplistic lifestyle. I’d love to be a minimalist but I’m so attracted to materialistic bullshit, so maybe this might help me out.
One thing you must know about me is that I LOVE GOOD FOOD more than anything in the world. A good vegan and gluten free meal is the way to my heart. One of my friends bought me a watermelon once and it was the best day ever. Hint hint to all you out there
Well I hope you enjoy my blog and bare with me as I try not to be too lame or cringy.
Be yourself and eat all the plants,
